"Vicryl suture by Ethicon. Absorbable - synthetic - braided. Vicryl Rapide is the fastest absorbing suture by Ethicon. This is used when the need of wound support does not extend to more than 7-10 days. This could be in superficial soft tissue approximation of skin or mucosa.   In other respects, Vicryl Rapide and its handling features are the same as in the normal Vicryl suture.  It is a braided suture. This combines strength with good handling capabilities. A coating ensures smooth passage through tissue.   Remaining tensile strength of the Vicryl Rapide suture: 5 days - 50 % 10-14 days - 0% Vicryl Rapide should be fully absorbed in around 42 days.
