PDS Plus - antibacterial suture with long resorption time
PDS Plus by Ethicon. An antibacterial synthetic, monofile, absorbable suture.PDS Plus is equivalent to your normal PDS II absorbable suture with the addition of a coating that enables antibacterial protection (triclosan).
WHO include triclosan coated sutures in the WHO Global Guidelines for the prevention of Surgical Site Infections.

4 weeks - 70%
6 weeks - 60%
Remaining tensile strength PDS Plus suture 4-0 and thinner:
2 weeks - 60%
4 weeks - 40%
6 weeks - 35%
The suture should be completely absorbed within 182 - 238 days.
