Chirlac Rapid from Vitrex is a synthetic, braided, and coated rapidly absorbable suture made of low-molecular-weight polyglycolic acid. It is intended for use on skin, oral mucosa, and other soft tissues that require support only during the early healing phase.

Flexible braided construction

The braided design gives Chirlac Rapid good flexibility, ease of handling, and knot security. The suture has a resorbable surface coating that reduces friction and facilitates passage through the tissue. Chirlac Rapid is available in violet and uncolored versions.

Rapid loss of tensile strength and resorption

Chirlac Rapid degrades through hydrolysis, and complete resorption occurs after approximately 42 days. The suture should not be used when the tissue requires mechanical support for longer than approximately seven days.
