Chirasorb Plus Antibacterial Suture
Chirasorb Plus from VITREX—absorbable—braided—antibacterial suture. An affordable alternative for those who work with Vicryl Plus®.
Chirasorb Plus from Vitrex is a synthetic, braided, and absorbable suture made of polyglactin 910, a copolymer consisting of 90 percent glycolide and 10 percent L-lactide. The suture has an antibacterial surface coating and is intended for soft tissue closure and ligatures.
Antibacterial surface coating with chlorhexidine
The surface coating contains chlorhexidine diacetate, an antiseptic agent with antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The coating also contains a copolymer of glycolide and lactide, as well as calcium stearate. The braided construction provides the suture with good flexibility, ease of handling, and knot security.
