Chirasorb from Vitrex is a synthetic, braided, and coated absorbable suture made of polyglactin 910, a copolymer consisting of 90 percent glycolide and 10 percent L-lactide. The suture has a medium-strength profile and is intended for soft tissue closure and ligatures in various surgical fields.
The braided construction gives Chirasorb good flexibility, handling properties, and knot security. The surface coating reduces friction and contributes to smooth passage through tissue. The suture is available in violet and uncolored versions.
14 days - 75%
21 days – 50%
Complete resorption occurs after approximately 56–70 days. The product line includes several sizes, thread lengths, and needle combinations.
The suture is designed to be an excellent and affordable alternative to Ethicon’s products. It has a smooth outer coating that allows it to glide easily through soft tissue. The suture is completely absorbed after 56–70 days.
VITREX manufactures truly high-quality sutures. The suture thread is manufactured in Europe, while the needles are produced by the Japanese brand MANI. They offer an excellent balance of price and quality. Do you have any questions about Chirasorb or other sutures we carry? If so, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’ll be happy to help.
