Monosyn Quick – rapidly absorbable monofilament suture from B. Braun
Rapidly absorbable monofilament suture made of gluconate from B. Braun
Monosyn Quick from B. Braun is a synthetic, monofilament, rapidly absorbable suture made of glyconate. It is designed for soft tissue closure where wound support is needed only for a short period during the healing process.
Rapid loss of tensile strength
Approximately 50 percent of the suture’s original knot strength remains after about 6–7 days. Thereafter, the strength decreases rapidly, and the material is normally resorbed after about 56 days. Compared to standard Monosyn, Monosyn Quick thus has a significantly shorter strength profile.
Monofilament suture for rapidly healing tissue
The monofilament design provides a smooth surface and easy passage through the tissue. Monosyn Quick can be used for, among other things, intradermal skin closure, gynecological and urological procedures, as well as oral and dental surgery. The suture is uncolored and is available in several sizes, thread lengths, and needle combinations.
