MonoMax has a slower loss of tensile strength than polydioxanone sutures. The material degrades gradually through hydrolysis and enzymatic processes, resulting in an extended resorption profile. This makes MonoMax an alternative when an absorbable material is desired but the need for wound support persists over a long period.
The monofilament design provides a smooth surface and easy passage through tissue. MonoMax also has high elasticity and stretchability, allowing the suture to adapt to changes in the wound region during the healing process. The product line includes various sizes, thread lengths, and needle combinations.
