Lyostypt – Resorbable Collagen-Based Hemostatic Agent

Lyostypt from B. Braun is a sterile, resorbable local hemostatic agent based on fibrillar collagen. The material is applied to the bleeding site and supports the local coagulation process.

Lyostypt is used for hemostasis in cases of capillary bleeding, oozing, and bleeding from parenchymal organs. It can also be used as a complement to other surgical methods for bleeding control.

The soft and adaptable collagen material is available in several sizes and can be shaped to fit the treatment area. According to B. Braun, the material is absorbed within approximately three weeks. Lyostypt is intended for qualified healthcare professionals and must always be used in accordance with the current instructions for use.
