Supramid is a non-absorbable, synthetic, multifilament suture from high-quality SMI AG.
Flexible design with good knot security and high tensile strength
The coated multifilament design combines the thread’s flexibility with a smooth surface. This allows for smooth passage through tissue, reduced tissue resistance, and limited capillary transport. Supramid is soft and flexible and offers good handling, high tensile strength, and secure knot fixation.
For soft tissue closure and ligatures
Supramid is primarily intended for general soft tissue closure and ligatures, particularly skin closure. The suture is black for good visibility and is eventually encapsulated by connective tissue. The product line includes several suture sizes and needle combinations.
