Chiralen from Vitrex is a synthetic, monofilament, non-absorbable suture made of polypropylene. The material is hydrophobic and is not broken down by the body’s tissue enzymes, making the suture suitable when long-term tissue support is needed.

Smooth surface and good elasticity

Chiralen has a smooth, non-porous surface that provides low friction and smooth passage through tissue. The elasticity and stretch properties of the polypropylene material make the suture pliable during handling. It is available in blue and black for good visibility in the surgical field.
